About

My names Rachel, I started my journey of health and wellness almost a year and a half ago. I started out severely obese, in the picture below I actually wasn’t at my heaviest, I had lost about 30 pounds, the comparison was a few months ago at the weight I have maintained and will continue to maintain. I won’t say how much I weigh or what I started at because that doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is you’re active and eating right! I don’t want you to match your personal goals with mine.

So this picture has caused a good amount of people to come to me for advice. So I started this blog, I wanted an outlet to share everything I do. What I eat, how much I run, thoughts on issues, things like that. I used the name Fitness for the Fat Girl as sort of a way to redefine fat. Fat is an adjective not an insult. Everyone has fat. Everyone is fat, so I used it. It’s not meant to be an insult and never would I use it in a derrogative manner.

So more about me, I live in Georgia with my husband, I’m 21, he’s 22. We’ll be married a year in May and he’s my biggest support system. He goes running with me, hits the trails, and even puts up with my weird eating habits. He even cooks for me! He’s my best friend and husband wrapped into one.

We also have a sphynx named Rue

And a second fur child Haymish, who basically follows me everywhere. If I could take him everywhere I go I would! He’s such a character!

I’m a very avid runner, 3 miles weekdays, 7 miles Saturday and another 7 Sunday. It’s what I love running and it’s a huge stress reliever. I hike when I get the chance and I’m also really into yoga. I’m a huge spinach, salad, and cereal eater, you’ll see more about that in my posts. I also am an avid reader, documentary watching, evolution believer. I listen to a lot of Fleetwood Mac, Lynard Skynard, and The Allman Brothers. Last but not least I’m studying to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy. So join me on my journey!
